I svallvågorna av Brexit slog de brittiska herrarna undan fötterna för sina lydiga tjänare i det lojalistiska partiet DUP. Partiet tappade över 6 procent av rösterna när de sex grevskapen gick till val. Största parti är nu är Sinn Féin. Om detta ska betraktas som en seger eller inte är svårt att säga. Sinn Féin har ett republikanskt program på pappret. Samtidigt sålde man ut den irländska republikanska rörelsen genom långfredagsavtalet och har sedan länge övergett den politiska strategin att inte inta parlamentariska platser i lydregimens parlament. Utöver dessa historiska svek mot den republikanska rörelsen har Sinn Féin administrerat det angiverisystem som gjort att man samarbetat med RUC på Irland och PSNI i de sex grevskapen för att slå ut de grupper som fortfarande står upp för den väpnade befrielsekampen.
Vi i föreningen Irlandinformation står lojala med de grupper som motsätter sig långfredagsavtalet och som vill ha ett fritt, enat och socialistiskt Irland. Dessa grupper utsätts med hjälp av Sinn Féin och deras representanter för hård statlig repression. Domstolarna fortsätter att döma politiska oppositionella i domstolar utan jury. Detta sker i ett system som nu ska styras av Sinn Féin. Det finns inga tvivel om att makten blivit viktigare för Sinn Féin än de politiska principerna och den politiska kamp partiet springer ur. På så vis är de lika den svenska socialdemokratiska rörelsen.
En ljusning i det, i övrigt mörka politiska läget i hela Europa, är att det märks tydliga frambrytningar även för fristående kandidater från den kontinuerliga republikanska rörelsen. Bland dessa kan nämnas Dan Murphy som fick över 1100 röster i västra Belfast för Irish Republican Socialist Party.

In the waves of Brexit, with the “Irish Protocoll”, the British authorities drew the carpet from under the feet of their obedient servants in the loyalist party DUP. The party lost more than 6 percent of the vote when the Six Counties went to the polls. The biggest party now is Provisional Sinn Fein. Whether this should be considered a victory or not is difficult to say. Provisional Sinn Féin has a Republican program on paper. At the same time, the Irish Republican movement was sold out through the Good Friday agreement and the party has since long sold out in taking its seats in the puppet parliaments in the Six Counties and in the Freestate, promoting a liberal constitutional politics. In addition to these historic betrayals of the Republican movement, it participates in the police boards and is encouraging young people to join the sectarian force busy harassing republicans that have refused to be bought by the Brits.
We in the Ireland Information Group support the groups who oppose the Good Friday agreement and who want a free, united and socialist Ireland. Struggling for the cause in face of the enemy in all its forms. The courts continue to pass sentences and imprison political opposition in courts without a jury. Provisional Sinn Fein gave these non-jury courts its blessing at their Ard fheis last year. There is no doubt that power has become more important to Provisional Sinn Féin than the political principles the party once had and the political struggle it once fought . They do everything, change every principle to show the establishment how well housetrained they are.
The Republican organisations all called for a boycott of the election. Only about 65% voted. In West Belfast the Irish Republican Socialist Party launched its first ever candidate to Stormont, despite heavy harassment and arrests of their campaign workers , Dan Murphy won 1 100 votes.
Not to bad in the old Shinner- territory.
