Gemensamt uttalande från Irlandinformation, Rojavakommittéerna, och NCDK

I vårt arbete med den irländska respektive kurdiska frihetskampen har internationell solidaritet alltid varit en stor och viktig del. Kampen för frigörelse och socialism, samt mot exploatering och förtryck, är internationell, och även om den ser olika ut på olika platser är det en gemensam sak där vi alla är förenade.

Just nu genomför den baskiska politiska fången Patxi Ruiz en hungerstrejk med följande krav:

1. _{Human behandling från den spanska staten och dess myndigheter}
2. _{Återföring av baskiska fångar till Baskien}
3. _{Amnesti och frihet för baskiska politiska fångar}

Såväl den kurdiska som irländska frihetskampen har lång erfarenhet av inhuman behandling av politiska fångar, samt av hungerstrejken som vapen för att uppmärksamma orättvisorna. Vi inom Irlandinformation, Rojavakommittéerna och NCDK ställer oss bakom de krav som förts fram och vill härmed uttala vårt helhjärtade stöd för Patxi Ruiz i hans kamp.

Joint statement from the Ireland Information Group of Sweden, the Rojava Committees and NCDK

In our work with the Irish and Kurdish freedom struggles, international solidarity has always been a major and important part. The struggle for liberation and socialism, as well as against exploitation and oppression, is international, and although it takes different forms in different places, it is a common cause where we are all united.

Right now, the Basque political prisoner Patxi Ruiz is carrying out a hunger strike with the following demands:

1. _{Humane treatment by the Spanish State and prison authorities}
2. _{The return of Basque prisoners to the Basque Country}
3. _{Amnesty and freedom for Basque political prisoners}

Both the Kurdish and Irish struggles for freedom and independence have long experience of inhumane treatment of political prisoners, as well as of using the hunger strike as a tool to draw attention to the injustices. We in the Ireland Information Group of Sweden, the Rojava Committees, and the NCDK, fully support the demands that have been put forward and hereby wish to express our wholehearted support for Patxi Ruiz in his struggle.
