Idag, den 19/5, fyller vår kamrat Brendan McConville 46 år. Brendan McConville har, tillsammans med John-Paul Wootton, suttit fängslad sedan 2009. Det betyder att de idag har suttit fängslade i mer än 2900 dagar. Brendan och John-Paul har dömts till livstids fängelse för ett brott de inte har begått. Vi i föreningen Irlandinformation driver just nu en kampanj för att samla in pengar till den irländska kampanjen Justice for the Craigavon 2, som arbetar för att få Brendan och John-Paul fria och för att ge stöd åt deras familjer.
Domen mot Brendan och John-Paul är en politisk dom och ett justitiemord som begåtts av den brittiska staten. Vi i Irlandinformation kan aldrig acceptera godtyckliga politiska rättegångar som internerar människor för resten av deras liv.
Idag sänder föreningen Irlandinformation sina hjärtliga gratulationer till Brendan McConville på hans födelsedag och ser fram emot att en dag få möta honom i frihet!

Today, the 19th of May, is the birthday of our comrade Brendan McConville. Brendan McConville and John-Paul Wootton have been imprisoned sice 2009. That means that they’ve been imprisoned for more than 2 900 days. Brendan and John-Paul was convicted and imprisoned for an alleged crime that they did not commit. We, the Ireland Information Group of Sweden, are running a fundraiser to collect money to the Irish campaign Justice for the Craigavon 2, which is working to get Brendan and John-Paul free and to support to their families.
The convivtion of Brendan and John-Paul is a political conviction. It’s a clear case of miscarriage of justice, committed by the British state. We, the Ireland Information Group of Sweden, can never accept this kind of arbitrary trials that interns people for the rest of their lives.
Today we, the Ireland Information Group of Sweden, sends our congratulations to Brendan McConville on his birthday and look forward to meet him in freedom anytime soon!
